favorite memories: rock on

"Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so...."

I can not hear this song with out thinking about rocking my babes to sleep!

One thing i am so glad i did was rock them almost every night , if i didn't  then shawn did. i do have to admit, rocking them every, single, bingle night was kinda exhausting , especially when i  had a million things to do. but you know what? i can't even tell you what one specific thing was that i had to do back then, it probably wasn't that important {well,maybe it was showering.... cleanliness is always important,wink} all i remember is rocking them every single night!

we probably rocked hunter until he was 3. we had to get a little routine so he would stay asleep when we put him down, so we would rock him while we prayed with him, then would sing Jesus loves me 5-10 times then put him down and sit in the room with him till he fell asleep . we also did the same for carter! Capri  does like to be rocked too, which i do most days for nap time, but if the boys are destroying the house and screaming downstairs, i can put her down while she's awake too!  :)

tonight, i just felt like rocking hunter. he covered my whole lap and stretched down to my legs! it's so bittersweet. i'm so glad that he is this little healthy ball of energy and can pick out his own clothes, dress himself, get a snack by himself, zip his coat and such, but it makes me kinda sad that he doesn't need me as much! i'm trying to soak up every moment of him "needing" me and being a little boy. i always would sing "Jesus loves me" to him , and as he got older he would sing with me and it would melt my heart! sometimes i would cry. i would try and hold off till he was fully asleep so he couldn't see me, but he would say "mommy, are you ok?" then it would make me cry even more!

i wanted to rock carter to sleep tonight too, but he zonked out during snack time !  i guess i will tomorrow night!

even if you child is a super duper good sleeper and goes to bed on their own, take a night every so often to rock them! life goes by too fast not too!
soak them up!

rocking hunter tonight
he had me sing "you are my sunshine"
 {tear}

i loved rocking "both of my babes to sleep! this is when i was preggers with capri last year

even as my belly got bigger and bigger, i didn't want to miss out on these sweet nap time moments
{don't mind those little stains on my shirt, i was always chowing down and spilling stuff on my belly}

rocking hunt when he was around 3 ish, maybe a tad older

ok, i know some people think this book is sad which it kinda is, but it's so sweet too! i would rock my boys till they were 50 if they let me
 {sounds creepy, doesn't it? but i totally would, lol}

hey mr.postman

it's do something nice for your mail man week!

i have had the same mailman since i was a babe! we live in the same neighborhood that i grew up in, so our mailman knows us on a first name basis...not just because he sees our name on our mail. he is seriously the sweetest and always makes time to say hi to the boys and ask about Capri.

the boys and i made a valentine for him {but daddy threw it away on accident , so i made a new one today} and we picked him out a box of valentine chocolates at the store last night

we saw him pull up in our neighborhood today and they boys were SO excited to go deliver our surprise for him. by the time i packed up all three kids, he was no where in sight! we actually drove around the neighborhood trying to find him which was a fun game for the kids too!

we spotted him, i pulled over to the side, let the boys hop out and they gave him the valentine and chocolate! it made his day! he said "wow! thanks hunter and carter! i'll cherish this"
{as soon as we pulled away hunter asked me what cherish meant. it was cute.}

so, go do something nice for your mailman!
even if it's just putting an extra valentine in the mailbox for him!

it's rare that i see our postman without singing this song in my head
{haha}

red hot valentine's day sex

Sounds amazing,right? Chances are only half of married couples, if even that will be having sex on valentines day!
 Unless that is one of the four holidays a year that couples do it on
 {which is craziness}
Typical scenario:
Husband says:
My wife is always too tired!
Wife says:
I want my husband to appreciate me!
Well husbands- your wife has been working/at home all day taking care of the kids, she has barely had a chance to pee by herself, she's been doing laundry and has a hot meal on the table for you {this is so not how I am... I need to work on cooking more} and you mosey in from work saying it was a long day, sit down to dinner, eat , then go watch tv or play video games while she's trying to eat dinner and clean up everything.
 No crap she's tired! she's had a long day too
How about you come home, greet her with a kiss
{which you should everyday anyway}
ask her about her day
sit down to dinner
{with your cell turned off}
eat together, help with the dishes,
and maybe offer to bathe the kids or put them to bed .
Do you know how good that makes a woman feel, knowing that her husband is taking interest in her, working as a team to get things done around the house, and sharing responsibility of the kids
{which I am all about... so is shawn, praise the Lord...
he does laundry, the dishes sometimes and puts both boys to bed every night}
that makes us so happy and gives us time to decompress from the day so we have so extra energy... For you know what
{wink}
women:
are you constantly nagging your husband?
do you ever tell him you appreciate him working hard for your family?
does your husband come home to find you in sweats everyday ?
{i'll answer that question, yes! haha}
i'm sure our hubbies don't want to have sex with a crazy, nagging, unshowered wife everyday!
yes, a nice hot meal on the table makes him feel appreciated,
you taking pride in the way you look {at least some days} makes him happy to come home to you
those words of affirmation make him feel confident
let's both husbands and wives {but more husbands...haha, just kidding}
work on showing love and appreciation more and get some sizzle back in the bedroom!
owww owww
Have you heard the saying...
Happy wife, happy life.
So true!
And this saying:
Men who do house work,
have sex more often.
That's true too! Haha
here's hoping you have some hot sex more than 4 times a year
{cheers}

little loves

i'm sure all of us tell our kids we love them everyday.
 but how often do we tell them why we love them?

i found this little valentine project online and thought it was cute.

everyday, until valentines day, you put a new heart up on a door {or wherever} with a reason why you love your child.

the boys have loved reading them. when they get up,
 i say "come see if there is a new heart on the door"

they get a huge smile on their face when i read the heart to them. then we usually go over the hearts from the days before too. i asked hunter why i loved him and he remembered the other 2 i put up, and i'm sure he will keep remembering all the reasons as we read them all everyday together.

here is our "little love" door

hunter's hearts say:
i love hunter because he is a good big bro
i love hunter because he makes his bed everyday
i love hunter because he loves Jesus

carter's hearts say:
i love carter because he shares {sometimes, haha}
i love carter because he is a good big bro
i love carter because he likes donuts

i am going to mix up some silly ones with some sweet ones :)

the kids also made valentines while i was cutting out hearts

little miss capri played while we had our craft time

carter cutting out a valentine

i think kids of all ages will love this even if you have a teenager!
 they might think it's corney but who doesn't love to hear why they are loved! :)
